The Native American Community Academy (NACA) is a tuition-free public charter school for grades 6 to 12, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. NACA's students represent more than 37 different tribes.

The NACA curriculum integrates culture, wellness, native languages, community, families and college preparation into each child's education. The school's philosophy is guided by Native American traditional values, and a rigorous, modern approach to college-preparatory education.

Their Feedback

Upleaf worked with us to understand our goals and needs for the website, and did an outstanding job capturing the school's personality through the website design. Once the site was set up, Upleaf provided training and customer service so that the site is easy to maintain and continues to meet our needs well past the launch date. When we recently expanded our website, Upleaf talked through various options and helped settle on a way to expand that was both budget-friendly and met our goals. We have been highly pleased with their services and continue to recommend Upleaf to friends and colleagues.

Our Work for this Client

Web Design

In 2010, Upleaf was tasked with making NACA's community of students and parents come alive online. Working in tandem with a professional photographer and videographer, Upleaf designed an interactive website to capture the vibrancy and uniqueness of this Native charter school.

In addition to developing copy to present the school's unique curriculum and philosophy, Upleaf created a custom section of the website for students (with yearbooks, student calendar, awards and photo albums) and another section for parents (permission forms, bus schedules, key contacts, parent calendar). The website includes a host of fun features like photo galleries, an art gallery, a map with the origin of NACA students, a calendar, and prominent links to NACA's rich social media communities.

In 2013, Upleaf added a new section for educators to highlight NACA's unique program to license Native teachers and promote the creation of new Native charter schools across the country.
